This Report presents research outputs of EURO-HEALTH project and focuses on the application of the Population Health Index to Metropolitan Areas. The project developed a Population Health Index (EURO-HEALTHY PHI) aimed to evaluate population health and provide a comprehensive picture of health inequalities in multiple dimensions and at different geographical levels.

This report is derived from deliverables 7.1 and 7.2 of the EuroDairy project. In these deliverables, an inventory of regionally tailored innovations emerging from the thematic WPs in EuroDairy was created. The Euroship project, spanning from 2020 to 2023, focuses on a gender-sensitive assessment of social protection against poverty and exclusion in Europe. By involving stakeholders, the project aims to develop policy recommendations for strengthening social citizenship at both national and EU levels. The research delves into the experiences of citizens, particularly those with low education and income, emphasizing challenges and responses amid policy transformations in social protection systems. The project adopts a mixed-methods study design to uncover how job insecurities and labour market exclusion affect youth’s well-being and health, chances of gaining autonomy and economic independence by leaving the parental home and forming their own families, as well as short-term and long-term risks of poverty, material deprivation and capabilities of qualifying for social security.

Fictions Lab (Portugal) addresses labour market shocks threatening Europe’s social and ecological systems, focusing on vulnerabilities in the manufacturing sector. By uniting technologists, workers, and human-centred design experts, the Lab explores future scenarios and provides training on digital and cyber-physical technologies. Through creativity workshops and speculative design, it tackles skill gaps and prepares adaptable, skilled workforces. The resulting policy proposals aim to ensure inclusive, future-ready labour markets through community involvement and re-skilling—so no one is left behind.

This policy brief summarizes the progress of the European Universities initiative, aiming to establish systemic cooperation between EU higher education institutions by 2024. It aligns with the EU's strategy to enhance universities' roles in societal recovery, sustainability, inclusion, and digitalization. Recommendations are provided to further develop policies supporting this cross-European academic integration, backed by the Erasmus+ program and Horizon 2020.

This research note reviews existing literature on household financial resilience, considers how financial resilience can be measured, presents country-level statistics from published sources and new empirical estimates using microdata from the Household Finance and Consumption Survey and the Luxembourg Wealth Study which allow us to consider how financial resilience varies across households. Finally we explore a range of existing policies and policy options for boosting households’ resilience to financial shocks.
