FutuResilience strengthens collaboration for Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience
16 March 2025

Resilience is at the core of effective disaster risk management, enabling societies to anticipate, prepare for, and adapt to emerging threats. The Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015–2030 highlights the importance of strengthening disaster resilience by enhancing risk governance, improving preparedness, and integrating science into decision-making. In line with this, the European Green Deal and the EU Adaptation Strategy emphasise the need to build climate-resilient societies, reduce disaster-related economic and human losses, and foster sustainable development. Knowledge valorisation—turning research into actionable insights—is a key element in this process, bridging the gap between scientific advancements and real-world applications.
FutuResilience is pleased to announce its collaboration with the Disaster Risk Stakeholder Hub and other EU-funded initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to enhancing knowledge valorisation for disaster risk reduction and resilience building. This partnership is one pillar of the project sustainability efforts and aligns with the project goal of equipping societies with forward-looking, science-based solutions to prepare for and adapt to future risks.
The Disaster Risk Stakeholder Hub serves as a central reference point for a diverse range of stakeholders, from local communities and policymakers to international organisations and researchers. By providing access to a vast collection of datasets, impact assessment tools, and best practices, the Hub will foster informed decision-making and the sustainable use of disaster risk knowledge. The FutuResilience Knowledge Base will further strengthen the Hub’s capacity to connect scientific advancements with real-world applications, ensuring that research outputs translate into effective resilience strategies.
The Hub originated from the PARATUS project and its scope has now been expanded to provide a universal platform for a broader range of disaster risk management stakeholders. By integrating with an expanding network of over 2,500 stakeholders and 70 curated knowledge bases, the collaboration underscores the necessity of uniting expertise across multiple EU projects to tackle the pressing challenges of disaster risk management.
