Generative European Commons Living Lab - gE.CO Living Lab - Tools to promote and facilitate citizens' participation and the creation of a community
This document introduces the concept of Collective Emotional Mapping as a qualitative mapping tool that involves the active participation of underrepresented groups in the creation of spatial and commons initiatives. Inspired by Lynch's seminal study, the method encourages residents to draw maps of their surroundings, fostering a space for discussion, participation, and co-creation. The guide emphasizes the importance of qualitative maps in addressing issues of spatial scale, boundaries, and functionality, offering a means for residents to define their neighborhood and share their unique perspectives. The document highlights the potential of collective maps in promoting participatory practices, understanding spatial mobility, and documenting the world of commons. The method aims to be a valuable tool for deep analysis, socialization of knowledge, and fostering safe spaces through co-creation.
