University of Ferrara, Italy
Landscape

SEEDS is an interuniversity research centre. It develops research and higher education projects in the fields of ecological and environmental economics, with a special focus on the role of policy and innovation.
The workshop will debate on inter and multidisciplinary papers, within and beyond social sciences, that integrate and extend political economy narratives. Specifically, the focus of the workshop will be on (but not restricted to):

  • Macroeconomics of sustainability and human development;
  • Climate change, energy and resources economics and policy;
  • Circular Economy models;
  • Environmental public policies and their evaluation;

FUTURESILIENCE will participate by presenting a paper that will analyse the case of Emilia Romagna in Italy as a good practice in terms of the quick ability to respond to an unexpected crisis – the earthquake in 2012 – and to approach the recovery phase by articulating both a top-down process and a bottom-up process.
